Murray Breit is a former Long Island local and founding partner of Geomedia, Inc. Murray has over 22 years of experience as a producer, director and editor.
Murray’s family traded the crazy commutes and brutal cold of New York for the wide-open spaces and warm weather of Texas when he was very young. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor’s degree in Radio-Television-Film, but took a detour from film to follow his longtime interest in computers. Murray established a successful software retail business in San Antonio during the Stone Age of personal computing.
Murray couldn’t deny his love of film and video for long. He started a small video production company in 1993 called Digital Arts that produced hundreds of TV commercials for the San Antonio market, including projects for USAA, Time Warner and other Fortune 500 companies. In 1995, Murray teamed up with Martin Jaeger to work on a variety of broadcast video projects. A few years later, the two merged their businesses, adopting the name of Martin’s company, Geomedia.
As the new company grew, Murray found himself having to step out from behind the camera to serve as the point of contact for ad agencies and clients. Murray’s passion for computers and film have come full circle, as he now works closely with Geomedia’s rapidly expanding interactive department.
When not on set, Murray is a slave to his two Weimaraners, a die-hard, long-suffering Mets fan and part owner of the Green Bay Packers. He loves computer games, vacuous TV, and, most of all, his family.
