University Health Systems (UHS) Case Study

Client & Background:

University Health has more than two dozen locations, is the primary teaching facility for UT Health San Antonio and offers advanced care for children and adults in some of the most beautiful and technologically advanced hospitals in the country.

The Challenge:

University Health wanted to tell a bigger story—one that went beyond the walls of their hospitals and clinics. They sought to demonstrate how their care touches every corner of the community, empowering people to live healthy, fulfilling lives. The creative concept centered on a community block party, symbolizing connection, resilience, and togetherness. Through four interwoven patient stories—each unique yet united by shared experiences of recovery and renewal—University Health aimed to show that their work isn’t just healthcare; it’s about helping families, friends, and neighbors thrive.

With multiple storylines, a large cast, and complex choreography, the production required exceptional coordination and storytelling precision to bring the vision to life.

Objectives: 

  1. Showcase University Health’s deep commitment to community through authentic, emotional storytelling around key service lines.
  2. Feature multiple patient stories woven into a cohesive, uplifting narrative centered on a neighborhood block party.
  3. Illustrate the impact of care—how University Health’s dedication allows people to continue participating in life’s meaningful moments.

Solutions:

Geomedia partnered with a creative agency to concept and execute the campaign, managing the process from pre-production through final delivery. To ensure cinematic quality and emotional depth, Geomedia assembled a large-scale production team—including a skilled cinematographer and a diverse ensemble cast—to capture each story’s individuality while maintaining continuity across the full narrative.

Each short film highlighted one patient’s journey—how the care from University Health enabled them to return to the moments that matter most—culminating in a joyful block party scene that celebrated life, connection, and community.

Results:

The result was a visually stunning, emotionally resonant campaign that brought University Health’s values to life and reminded viewers that great healthcare doesn’t just heal—it empowers. The “Block Party” campaign deepened community awareness of University Health’s mission and strengthened emotional connections to the brand. By showing real stories of resilience and renewal, the campaign positioned University Health as not just a healthcare provider—but a vital part of the San Antonio community fabric.
