Joe Schaertl is a seasoned professional in the realm of video production, specializing in motion graphics and animation. With a career spanning over 25 years, Joe has honed his skills to become a master in his field, particularly excelling in Adobe AfterEffects.
Hailing from “Chicagoland,” Joe embarked on his journey into video production after completing his Bachelor’s degree with a focus on Television Production from Columbia College Chicago in ’99. However, it was his discovery of Adobe After Effects that truly captivated him. The endless possibilities offered by the software, particularly in layering and special effects, kept Joe constantly engaged and eager to push the boundaries of his creativity. After graduation, he interned at Edelman Public Relations, where he worked on prestigious accounts like Microsoft and Whirlpool.
Joe then began his tenure at WOAI as the main motion graphics designer for seven years solidifying his expertise and laying the groundwork for his future endeavors. In 2006, Joe joined Geomedia, following the footsteps of friend, Jeff Chesnut.
Throughout his career, Joe has contributed to numerous impactful projects, with one of the most notable being his work on the USAA Education Foundation’s educational videos. Over five years, Joe played a pivotal role in the production and post-production of roughly 500 videos, catering to various branches of the Department of Defense.
Within the walls of Geomedia, Joe finds his greatest inspiration. Surrounded by like-minded individuals, each with their areas of expertise, he thrives in its collaborative environment.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Joe is a man of diverse interests. He finds solace and inspiration in the great outdoors, exploring caves and surfing in Southern California. His adventurous spirit and love for nature undoubtedly contribute to his boundless creativity.
