MURRAY BREIT
DIRECTOR • BIZ DEVELOPER
Murray Breit, a founding partner at Geomedia, is a live action director and is also responsible for project acquisition and coordination. He was born in Long Island, New York but the long commutes and cold weather persuaded his family to move to Texas when he was very young. Murray was the graphics and layout designer for his high school newspaper. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Radio, Television and Film. His long time interest in computers lead him to establish successful software retail businesses in San Antonio during the early days of personal computing.
Murray’s first love was film and video. In 1993 he started Digital Arts a small video production company. Digital Arts produced hundreds of television commercials for the local San Antonio market. Including projects for Hyatt Hill Country Resort, USAA, Time Warner and other Fortune 500 companies.
In 1995 he teamed up with Martin Jaeger, his current partner, and worked on a variety of broadcast video projects. After a few years later the two individuals merged and adopted the name of Martin’s company, Geomedia. In the early days of this new venture Murray routinely produced, filmed, directed and edited many of commercials Geomedia produced. As the company grew Murray found himself as the point of contact and coordinator for advertising agencies and clients and happily leaned towards the production side of the business. As of late, he has been involved closely with Geomedia’s rapidly expanding interactive department.
When not on set, Murray is a slave to his 2 Weimaraners, loves his family, computer games, vacuous TV shows and is a die-hard, long suffering Mets fan as well as a part owner of the Green Bay Packers.
